Our Church Officers

Rev. Karel and his wife, Emily, are natives of the the greater Grand Rapids area in Michigan. Jeff was baptized in the Free Reformed Church, but has spent most of his life as a member of various URCs. He is a graduate of Calvin College (BA, English Literature) and Westminster Seminary California (MDiv). Before Jeff was installed as Pastor here at URCS, he served as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life at Covenant Reformed Church in Missoula, MT. Jeff loves talking theology, church history, and worship; drinking good coffee; playing board/tabletop games; and hunting varmints of all kinds. Mike has been an elder since January of 2019. A retired OPC minister, Mike preached at the Sunnyside URC on a regular basis. His final Sunday preaching was December 31, 2023, after which he has completely retired and continues writing his book.

Jason has been an elder since November of 2016. He is married to Tamera, and they have six children: Carson, Adalee, Maylee, Weston, Devon, and Brynlee

Scott has been an elder since the church's founding in 2007. He is married to Chris, and they have three children: Maisie, Haylie, and Dahlia.

Jonathan has been a deacon since November of 2016. He's lived in Sunnyside most of his life, and he is married to Dawn.
